Hi everyone! Welcome to my first blog for the Alkemist! :)
Today’s blog is about Coast to Coast clay masks – there are three of them for different skin types. I was so excited to try these masks as I have heard so much about them!
Just some tit bits about clay (specifically bentonite clay) for those who are not very familiar with it. Bentonite clay has been scientifically established to promote internal cleansing and detoxification, and have been used for such for centuries! It absorbs numerous toxins including toxic metals (mercury, lead, etc.) and volatile toxic compounds from cleaning products, pesticides and everyday household items. Bentonite clay’s ability to absorb these toxins come from its negatively charged molecules, which can penetrate our skin and organs and attracts toxin molecules from our body. How amazing, right!
Coast to Coast Pore Purifying Green Clay Mask contains Australian green clay, which has amazing toxin absorbing properties. It also contains another star ingredient – fruit extract of Lilly Pilly, an Australian indigenous ‘super food’ with astringent property to help reduce skin oiliness and acne. Lilly Pilly fruit is also rich in anti-oxidants and has antibacterial property which is perfect for combating acne!
I tried Coast to Coast Pore Purifying Green Clay Mask for a couple of days and boy is it a winner! I think the formulation is just perfect for my skin type (oily/combination). I applied the mask all over my face and neck and after washing off (around 20 minutes later) I can feel the effect immediately. The skin felt like it’s been deep cleansed but not dried out. My face also feels soothed and ‘matt’ for longer afterwards (people with oily skin can appreciate this!). It is definitely one of the best clay masks out there for oily/combination skin.
For those with dry or sensitive skin, try Coast to Coast Ultra Soothing White Clay Mask instead which contains naturally soothing ingredients such as organic aloe and Tasmanian sea kelp. My friend who has dry skin absolutely loves this one!
I can’t wait to try more Coast to Coast products. I really like the fact that they make use of Australia’s indigenous ingredients which work amazingly for the skin.
That’s all for today! I hope this post is useful especially for those who are not familiar with clay masks. Stay tune for my next post! :)
